Believe Or Not-A Tree Climbing Dog!

Meet Kelly, the loving, tree climbing, beloved dog of Sue and Dan Curran. Kelly is a rescue from Big Dog Ranch Rescue whom Sue and Dan adopted in September 2024 when she was 10 months old. She is a Lab, Pointer and Hound mix who will chase geckos, rabbits, squirrels even if the chase requires climbing up a tree! When the Currans adopted Kelly, they had no idea that she loves to climb. At first Sue was shocked and nervous, but Dan encouraged Kelly. She particularly likes to climb trees with a low branch which gives her climb a good start. Her favorite tree is on the nature trail between River Point and the clubhouse. So, look out (or up) for her when taking a stroll along the trail.

Shortly after Kelly joined the Curran household, Dan became very ill due to 2 strokes, 3 operations and 6 months in the hospital and rehab. Kelly had become so attached to Sue and Dan that she suffered severe separation anxiety while they had to be away so much. The Curran’s neighbors and friends took Kelly into their homes and kindly helped her through her anxiety. The neighborhood now knows her story and showers her with love and, of course, treats. Now that the family is together again, Kelly is joyously home and feels safe once again especially when napping with Dan in their recliner.

Our pets know when we are suffering and freely give us their love and support. Kelly is proof of that.
