Looking for ways to spend your days and meet new people? Come to Sew & Sews!! You’ll be helping others while meeting new friends.
Sew & Sews is Verandah’s very own nonprofit making a variety of items that are donated to kids living in the abuse shelter, foster care, Golisano Children’s Hospital or NICU or grieving the loss of a loved one. We also make items for people going through chemo and surgery or are fleeing an abusive partner. We don’t forget babies born into poverty whose parents don’t have money to buy the basics.
“But I don’t sew!” you say. Can you stuff pillows? Iron a bib? Tie a knot? Crochet or knit? Would you like to learn any of these skills? Are you willing to take the time to help others? We have sewing machines available to borrow. We provide the fabric or yarn. All we need is YOU!
Meetings are two Fridays a month from 9-11:30 a.m. in the cool River House Dining Room.
