MEET ANNIE AND CLOVER
Like most cats, Barbara Colquitt’s Annie and Clover delight in jumping into any available box or basket, but in commemoration of our country’s 250th birthday these two patriotic cats enjoy nestling on the American flag! Both Annie and Clover have striking blue eyes and long, fluffy fur. Annie is a 14 year old eight pound Ragdoll. She is very docile, affectionate, and not as social as some Ragdolls—she is quite shy with everyone except Barbara. She follows Barbara from room to room, tolerates gentle handling and petting, likes to be held and cuddled and, true to her breed, actually goes limp like a ragdoll when she is held in Barbara’s arms.
The opposite of Annie’s shyness is Clover, an eleven year old, 10 pound rescued Flame Point Himalayan who also has a docile temperament but is highly precocious. Clover is very vocal and demanding. She will wake Barbara up early in the morning by knocking anything that makes a noise off the nightstand—just to let it be known that she is ready for breakfast. When Clover wants to play or go out on the lanai, she actually initiates a conversation—it’s Play Time!
Ragdolls and Himalayans with their luxurious fur, striking blue eyes and loving nature are favorites among cat lovers. For this reason, they are often featured in cat shows. If Barbara entered Annie and Clover in a cat show, they would most certainly come home with blue ribbons!
A beloved pet’s photo, whether dog, cat, horse, bird, or fish will be featured in the Verandah View Pet of the Month.
