It is unlikely that anyone living on Willow Ridge isn’t aware of Vinny. Vinny is a male tabby cat probably part Maine Coon since he weighs 22 pounds, has large paws and ear tufts.
Vinny, the beloved cat of Kathy Caldwell and Brian Bobek, had a rough start to life. Vinny was left alone with his prior owner who had suddenly passed away. After seven days, a health and welfare check was made on the house due to no contact with the owner. Vinny, being the very smart cat that he is, followed his instincts and stayed alive by eating a box of crackers from the open pantry.
Vinny was two years old at that time, and the owner’s family was going to have sad Vinny put down. When Cathy and Brian found this out, they were not about to let that horrible fate happen. So they said they would take him and find a good home. Well, needless to say, Vinny has never left them and has indeed found a good home. He is spoiled rotten and just keeps his parents around to service his needs! Vinny is almost eight years old now and is their constant companion. Of all the cats his owners have had, they say he is their most special. So, a sad beginning became the happiest of endings.
A beloved pet’s photo, whether dog, cat, horse, bird, or fish will be featured in the Verandah View Pet of the Month. Resident owners can send in a photo with pet’s name, owner’s name, type of pet, and one sentence or two about their pet by texting Susan Shamey at (724) 355-2478 or email [email protected]. Pet photos will be chosen in the order they are received. All pets are beautiful to their owners.
“To sit with a pet on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden where doing nothing is to be back in Paradise.”
